Superman

With all the work I’ve had, especially with the holiday season, I have struggled to try and still focus on my kids.  Some days are busier than others, but my goal is to post more of our day to day photos from personal life so you can get to know me and my family, too!  So, of course there is a serious backlog of photos I want to share with you, but for today I will settle for sharing a favorite that I captured recently.  We were invited to a dress-up birthday party, and the kids were thrilled.  Kaiya (5) was a fairy princess, Evera (3.5) was a princess, and Hyatt (15 months) wore his superman t-shirt.  I love the irony of this shot – little superman, who still can’t fully walk, as he tries so hard to climb up to his sister.  Never mind flying!

Andrea Glowing

The first time I had the pleasure of taking photos for Andrea was right after her second child, Lucy, was born.  And now she is ready to have her third (a boy)!  While I’m sure that Riley (the eldest) is also excited and that it will be special to have a little brother, there was something for me as I was taking these photos that really wanted to focus in on Lucy, and the fact that she is going to become a big sister.  One of my favorite moments was Lucy comparing her belly with her mom’s:)  Another special thing about this session was that Andrea’s mom was in town, so we were able to take pictures of the Nana as she awaits this newest grandchild’s arrival, too!

The Wescotts

When Breena and I talked before this photo session, her main request was that she wanted photos that captured the essence and craziness that makes up their family of four boys.  Somehow, I wasn’t too concerned about this being an issue.  The energy, action and excitement that their family is full of was something I was pretty sure would naturally come through… and it did!  It was fun to see how Mike and Breena interacted with Aidan, Drew, Grant and Chase as they ran here and there, wielded light sabres, and wrestled.  Makes me excited to watch our little guy as he gets older, because girls are just different (wonderful, sweet, graceful, and crazy in their own ways, too!).  Oh, and by the way, how gorgeous is this family?!

Stacey and Steve

Stacey and Steve’s wedding in Tiburon, CA was one joyful occasion.  Both were both glowing as the ceremony and reception progressed, and it was clear to see how much their children, family and friends loved and celebrated with them.  This was the first wedding I’ve had the honour to participate in as the photographer, and what a way to begin!  The beach home provided a great backdrop, and Stacey and Steve were wonderful to work with!  Congratulations, you two!
