I know you aren’t supposed to play favourites, but I have to say that this photo shoot was one of my favourites for a few reasons:
1. This is my sister-in-law and her family.
2. They are a particularly beautiful family (check out Maki’s hair and Justine’s smile!)
3. I got to work with a completely new (and very fun, might I add) location
4. Allison, my sister-in-law, is an artist (in many ways: actress, painter, photographer, you name it). Vernon, my brother-in-law, is also an artist (his medium of choice being font design). Because of this, I felt like I had extra license to just “play” with the shadows and composition a little more than I normally would.
So, that said, you’ll notice that I processed a few of these pictures in a more “edgy” way than normal. It just seemed to fit the style and feel. One thing I love about photography is that there is always something new to learn and try!
Allison,
These pictures are so delightful and something to hold on to while Vernon gets better. God is still in control.
Love,
Becky
Wow! Nicole is an awesome photographer or you all are super photogenic!!! Oh-h-h, I enjoyed these shots so much. I am amazed at how elegant you are, Allison, as your mother! I am delighted by all the joyous smiles and love. The places and poses were so creative. Even Nicole has the Moore creativity!!! 🙂 Praying for you and am amazed by your courage and your ability to be upbeat and vulnerable and spiritually astute and creative and just a total witness to God’s grace! You are all amazing! I love you! Karen Wood
Thank you so much, Karen – yes, I married into a very creative family! And Allison, Vernon, Maki and Justine are all incredibly photogenic! We are praying along with you, as well, and completely agree about Allison’s courage and her amazing witness. Love and miss you! Love, Nicole:)
Hello
I came across your site while looking at different corner die cutters and began to read your story of Vernon. What a brave family and my heart goes out to all of you. I nearly lost 3 daughters in a terrible accident and its the waiting and being patient that is so hard to do. So many emotions one goes through and the feeling of despair and then there is a movement, a look, a tiny smile and the heart soars with anticipation and new hope. Just know, that even across the world people really do care and I am just one of many.
Pam
Hi Pam! I passed your message along to my sister-in-law, Allison, and know that she will be much encouraged by your words. Thanks for sharing! Nicole:)
